Discovery and Conservation of African Freshwater Biodiversity
A National Geographic funded expedition to Equatorial Guinea in June 2017 revealed several new species of fishes. This poorly studied region is also the type locality of many important species. Specimens and tissues collected from the area will help us to better understand the evolutionary relationships of the African fishes. This project was also supported by the Wildlife Conservation Society.
